Happy New Year! It is great to be back to my newsletter. As some of you know I gave birth to my son Oct. 11th and well, my focus has been navigating being a new Mommy, still showing up as a Wife, and still managing an entire agency (with the assistance of my amazing PR Sis Sarah Busby). I knew I would need time to get into the swing of things, but WHEW it has been a lot at times but I wouldn't trade it for the world. My Grayson Oliver is simply bliss!
Okay, now let's get to these gems ladies & gents!
As we are only on the second day of 2025, it’s the perfect time to reflect on your personal or business visibility goals and create a clear path to achieving them or what I LOVE to call this process which is creating a ROADMAP of VISIBILITY SUCCESS! Whether you’re a business owner, content creator, or entrepreneur, having a strategic roadmap can ensure your efforts lead to measurable results and that you aren't wasting your time.
So, here’s a five step guide to help you navigate your visibility goals and make this your breakout year.
Step 1: Setting Clear Goals
Before you can amplify your presence, you need to define what visibility means for you. It definitely isn't a one size fits all. Ask yourself the following:
Grow your social media following?
Secure media placements?
Increase website traffic or newsletter subscribers?
Establish yourself as a thought leadership in your field?
Your goals should follow the SMART framework actually. Are you familiar? It stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound. For example, instead of saying, “I want more followers,” aim for “I want to grow my Instagram audience by 20% by June 2025.”
Step 2: Visibility Plan Creation
Once your goals are defined, it’s time to create a visibility plan. A solid plan should include the following:
Target Audience: Who are you trying to reach? Understanding their needs and preferences will help you tailor your messaging.
Key Messaging: What do you want to be known for? Develop consistent messaging that aligns with your brand.
Content Strategy: Plan your content themes, topics, and platforms you will be utilizing. Also, decide on which formats—blogs, reels, static images, or youtube videos—are best suited to your audience and goals.
Tactics: Outline specific actions you’ll take, such as pitching to media outlets, hosting webinars, or collaborating with influencers, etc.
Metrics: Identify how you’ll measure success. For example, track engagement rates, website traffic, or media mentions to gauge the impact of your efforts.
Step 3: Leveraging Technology
Technology is your best friend when it comes to amplifying your visibility. Here are a few ways to leverage it effectively:
Social Media Tools: Use scheduling tools like Later, Buffer, or Hootsuite to maintain a consistent posting schedule if you find it overwhelming to post in real time.
Analytics Platforms: Track your performance with tools like Google Analytics, social media insights, or third-party tools like Sprout Social to measure what’s working and what’s not.
AI Assistance: Use AI-powered tools like Canva for design, GeminiAI (Google), ChatGPT for brainstorming content ideas, or Otter.ai for transcribing interviews and meetings.
PR Software: Explore platforms like Peter Shankman's SOS (https://sourceofsources.com/), Qwoted (https://www.qwoted.com) to find media opportunities that align with your expertise and also Podseeker to identify podcasts to be featured on.
Step 4: Being Open to New Platforms
The digital landscape is constantly evolving, and staying visible means being adaptable. In 2025, explore emerging platforms or features that can help you stand out. For example:
Video-first Platforms: As short-form video content continues to dominate and long form is back on the rise, consider creating engaging videos on TikTok (while we still have it), YouTube Shorts, or Instagram Reels.
Niche Platforms: If your audience resides on specialized platforms like Clubhouse, Discord, or Substack, expand your presence there.
New Features: Keep an eye on updates and features on platforms you already use. For example, LinkedIn’s push for video content (which I need to get with HAHA) can provide fresh opportunities.
**BONUS MENTION- THREADS! Please think about joining THREADS and curating your own algorithm on there and connect with a NEW set of great individuals.
Step 5: Organization and Planning Ahead
Consistency is key to visibility, and organization will help you stay on track. Here are some practical tips to work smarter:
Batch Recording: Dedicate a day to batch record videos or podcasts. This ensures you always have content ready to post, even during busy weeks or when you just don'y have the energy to create.
Content Calendar: Use tools like ClickUp, Trello, Asana or a simple spreadsheet to plan your content in advance. Map out key dates, themes, and promotional campaigns.
Work Ahead on Blog Posts: Write multiple blog posts(I 1000% believe in blogging- it still WORKS folks) in one sitting and schedule them for future or provide a reminder when they need to be uploaded.
Automate Where Possible: Automate repetitive tasks, such as email campaigns or social media posts, to free up time for creative or strategic work.
By organizing your workflow and planning ahead, you’ll not only maintain consistency but also create bandwidth to pivot when new opportunities arise. This is KEY!
Alrighty, there you have it! I hope this 5 step guide asissts you for all of 2025. I have been using all of these methods throughout the years and for this year I am going to be even more INTENTIONAL about implementing these steps because I personally know when you stick to them- they WORK! Wishing you an amazing 2025!
